A cross-sectional study done found that there is a higher degree of *meibomian gland dropout an dincomplete blinking among the Asian group as compared to the Caucasion group. Thus, Asians are more prone to dry eyes.
* Meibomian glands are oil glands along the eye of the eyelids where the eyelashes are found. These glands secrete oils onto the surface of the eye to prevent tears from drying up too quickly.
